چکیده
OBJECTIVE The purpose of this article is to assess the accuracy of MRI in detecting pelvic and paraaortic lymph node metastasis from uterine cervical cancer using various imaging criteria. CONCLUSION Although MRI analysis resulted in relatively low sensitivity, size and margin (spiculated or lobulated) were useful criteria for predicting lymph node metastasis from cervical cancer.

Inappropriate cervical injection of radiotracer for sentinel node mapping in a uterine cervix cancer patient: importance of lymphoscintigraphy and blue dye injection
Herein, we report a case of sentinel lymph node mapping in a uterine cervix cancer patient, referring to the nuclear medicine department of our institute. Lymphoscintigraphy images showed inappropriate intra‐cervical injection of radiotracer. Blue dye technique was applied for sentinel lymph node mapping, using intra‐cervical injection of methylene blue. Two blue/cold sentinel lymph nodes, with...
متن کاملDiagnostic Accuracy of MRI in Primary Cervical Cancer
Introduction: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies obtained during the initial staging of patients affected by uterine cervical cancer were compared to the final histological report after surgery. Methods: Data were retrieved from published papers. Results: MRI detection of lymph node metastases shows a sensitivity of 49.3% (1209 patients) and a specificity of 87.7% (1182 patients). Paramet...
متن کاملA Comparative Study of CT Scan and MRI in The Assessment of Squamous Cell Carcinoma of The Oral Cavity and Its Cervical Lymph Node Metastasis
Introduction: Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) is the most common head and neck malignancy. To decrease the side effects of treatment and mortality from disease relapse, careful staging for the proper treatment plan is necessary. The main purpose of this prospective study is to compare the diagnostic value of Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Im-aging (MRI) in oral SCC and its lymph ...
متن کاملDistribution patterns of metastatic pelvic lymph nodes assessed by CT/MRI in patients with uterine cervical cancer
BACKGROUND To investigate the three-dimensional (3D) distribution patterns of clinically metastatic (positive) lymph nodes on pretreatment computed tomography (CT)/magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images of patients with locally advanced cervical cancer. METHODS We enrolled 114 patients with uterine cervical cancer with positive nodes by CT/MRI (≥10 mm in the shortest diameter). Pretreatment ...
متن کاملCervical Cancer: Role of MRI in Patient Management
Recent developments in MR techniques have magnified the added value of MRI in management of patients with cervical cancer. This presentation will briefly review the role of MR in clinical practice and discuss features of recent MR technique. Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in women worldwide, and more than 80% of cases are found in developing nations. Cervical cancer is usually...
